Clarissa contacted me for a studio maternity session. She was pregnant with her first baby, a little girl. She had previously gone the DIY route with a hobbyist friend, and realized that hiring a professional would ensure the results that she envisioned. She drove all the way from Hampton, Georgia to work with me! 

When Clarissa came into the studio, she told me that she had fallen in love with the images on the website and knew I was the perfect photographer for her. She tried on several pieces from the wardrobe and chose a lace dress and a split front dress as well since she knew she wanted a few bare belly images. All clients decide their comfort level. Some clients know they want bare belly images, and others know they don't. This is YOUR maternity session, so we will craft it to fit what you envision within the setting you choose.  We talked about all things pregnancy and afterwards, and had lots of fun chatting. She works as an ER trauma nurse, so I told her that it was likey that very little about being a mother would faze her since she's seen it all at this point! Clarissa definitely has the perfect personality and demeanor to work in the nursing field: she is calm and serene, and makes others feel at ease immediately. 

The day of her studio session, we arrived and began shooting. She had brought a flower crown with her to wear with one of the dresses. We do have a couple of options for flower crowns in our studio wardrobe as well! There was lots of laughter during the session and we had a great time. She looked absolutely beautiful in the dresses that she chose. When she saw her finalized images, she let me know how much she loved them and that she would let me know when her daughter was born. I'm excited to share images from her newborn session later this month, and the story about how that newborn session happened!

I worked with an amazing videographer to create a short video of Lily Sophia Photography studio experience, and I share my philosophy and approach.

As a mom of three, I know where you are. I get it.  Most of my clients return time and time again as their families grow, and I love the long term relationships that I have developed over the years.

Atlanta Maternity Photographer | Why Pregnancy Photos are important

As a maternity photographer in Atlanta who LOVES taking pregnancy photos for clients, I meet a lot of different women. Some women love the way they look and feel when they're pregnant. Others hate the way they feel but love the way they look. Some women hate it all and consider pregnancy a means to an end. Pregnancy isn't always easy. I dealt with pretty severe morning sickness with my pregnancies, and didn't feel so great for the first half.

The biggest concern I hear from clients is that they're going to look fat in their images. You may not look like you did before pregnancy, but hear me: you look beautiful. I promise. I know exactly what to dress you in from the studio wardrobe and what angles to shoot from to make you see how stunning you are pregnant. I also know how your hair and makeup need to be done and have many referrals of fabulous hair and makeup artists in the Atlanta area. Why not make a special day for yourself out of it? Get a massage beforehand, have your hair and makeup done as an add on service from our HMUA at the studio, and enjoy every minute of your session! 

Our bodies are amazing. We have the capability to grow a tiny cell cluster into a baby that weighs several pounds. We grow an entire new organ (the placenta) to support them. Regardless of how we may feel when pregnant, the kicks and the movements as your baby grows within are an amazing thing to feel. The thoughts that you think while feeling those movements: who will my baby look like? What will my baby be like personality wise? What color eyes will my baby have? The answers to the questions don't even matter in the end. It's your baby, and you love them with a fierceness you didn't even know possible. That love is only going to multiply in an infinite way the moment you meet them for the very first time. When you meet them, you will know them. You've gotten to know them over the nine months you have carried them. And you know what? They will know you. They know your voice, your warmth, and your love. Welcome to motherhood: let's celebrate it by capturing your pregnancy!
